"Positive orthopaedic elective experience."

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital

I was very apprehensive about my impending total knee replacement,as an ex member of staff knowing too much about the planned surgery was not the best thing for me. From the time that I arrived on ward D1, I could not have had better treatment ,the nursing staff were all superb, consultant ,anaesthesist ,theatre and recovery staff all really kind ,professional and efficient, all in all a very positive experience.I was an inpatient from 2nd May until 7th May,also the pre and post op. Clinics run on D floor are a credit to the staff. My one and only problem was with the food served to us patients, the choice was poor ,food unappetising and to my mind not very nutricous ,it is a great shame that with such a good hospital the food is not up to the very high standard of everything else.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. It is always good to get feedback, positive or negative, from patients on their hospital experience so that we can shape and improve care for future patients. I will ensure that your kind words are shared with the staff across the departments involved in your care, who I’m sure, will greatly appreciate your encouraging remarks.
