I was referred to an Orthopedic consultant on 4th December of 2013 following ongoing knee injuries/swelling and other issues. I was given an appointment for the 3rd of April despite being on the cancellation list (which by my reckoning was around a 16 week wait). Following my consultants appointment (which he was not present for - I saw another Consultant) I was referred for a high amount of physio through Queens. I was warned at the time that there was a 4 week waiting period. 6 weeks after not hearing anything. I rang around several departments not only at Queens but also King Georges in Goodmayes to find that not only had my referral been lost for 2 weeks (how do you 'lose' an email referral?) but also the waiting period for physio has spiralled up from 4 weeks to around 14 weeks.. which puts me roughly at the end of July before receiving any notification. Not only this but I don't actually receive a appointment, Im just notified that I am allowed to apply for an appointment for sometime after a 2 week waiting period.... which puts me into August. And officially makes it over 1 year since I had the original injury to my knee. Make of that what you will
