"Waiting to get my sleeves now takes longer"

About: Adult community services / Lymphoedema Service

(as the patient),

My treatment was good and we sorted my complaints and worry’s out. But, getting there is hard. If I am not able to drive my journey takes nearly 2 hours by two buses and there is a long hill to climb up and down.

Waiting room, nowhere to book in. And the looks you get when I just take a seat, well! !

Waiting to get my sleeves now takes longer as I have to wait for nurse to send details to my GP. Then wait for them to sort script then take to chemist and wait another two weeks to get them. Then try them for 2 weeks. Then let clinic know how they fit.

But as before, clinic use to contact me when ready to fit them and we would know straight away if they were the right size.

Dear Indigo746,

Thank you for your feedback via Patient Opinion. We are pleased to hear that your treatment with the Lymphoedema Service was good and that they assisted you with your complaints and worries. However, we are sorry to hear that you found it difficult to find the service and that you are finding that it takes longer to receive your sleeves.

Your comments have been feedback to the service management and will be investigated further to ensure that this is not the experience of patients in future.

With best wishes

Kerry
