Had a footballing accident a few weeks back and hurt my foot, it was very swollen and unable to put any pressure on my foot so after a couple of days decided to go to A&E to get it checked out. Had X-ray on part of foot that was swollen and was told it is not broken but I had torn ligaments and tendons and to rest it. I took the doctors advice and rested my foot but after 2 weeks my foot was still really sore and felt worse than when I had first injured my foot, the swelling had gone down but the pain I have underneath my foot is unbearable and no painkillers were touching the pain. I decided to return to A&E to see if they would do another X-ray as the pain in my foot was in a different place to where they did X-ray first time round. I was seen by a nurse who was really nice and was then told to go back in waiting room, I assumed to wait for an X-ray! I was then called in by a doctor who said we will not X-ray again, he reckons he looked at first X-ray and it is not broken, I explained that my foot Hurt in a completely different place to where first X-ray was done but the doctor was very dismissive and just said rest it more and take painkillers! I am annoyed that he was not even prepared to do another X-ray as I strongly believe it is more than just bruising as the doctor told me that is all it was! I do have a very strong pain threshold and I am not somebody who is at the doctors all the time so it has to be bad for me to go and see somebody for medical help! I have had to take a week off work to try and rest it more but if still no better then I have to go to GP, all seems very silly to me. I am not happy at all with care I received, found doctor quite rude and patronising. Makes you wonder why you pay your taxes in this country because you are just made to feel like you are wasting the NHS time! If you was to look at my medical record you will see that I have been to the doctor once in a blue moon nevermind the hospital! Ridiculous.
