Despite informing the urologist, that my testicular pain and urination improved significantly when taking antifungal medicines (fluconazole and antifungal), they appeared completely disinterested in treating me.To assist in the decision-making process, I informed them that I had relapsed when stopping the above mentioned antifungals, and it's possible that I now need another family of antifungal drugs, as I'm probably resistant to the ones I had already taken. They shrugged their shoulders, smiled, and said they knew nothing about fungus medications. Towards the end of the shambolic consult, they offered to examine me. they had examined me 6 months earlier and left me in a distressed condition after squeezing my testis too hard. So I told them I don't need examining again, what I need is treating. No treatment was offered, despite telling them that I had been in the emergency department at this hospital for acute testicular pain 7 days earlier (the A & E also denied me treatment). I offered to pay for the medicines if Salford Royal hospital had no money, but they continued their dictum that they knew nothing about fungus. It was obvious to me that they had no motivation in treating me. The best they could offer was that I go to the Alexander Hospital in Cheadle and seek private treatment. I am puzzled the Salford Royal Urology department has such a prestigious reputation when such de-motivated specialists work there.
"Complete lack of interest in my illness"
