Pre-op appointments were cancelled a number of times and the date for surgery was moved 3 times which I found frustrating having to keep changing plans. Upon arriving in hospital for surgery it was a much more positive experience, staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the ward was spotlessly clean and I was kept up to date at all times. I do think that having no visiting during the afternoon is an extremely good idea as it allows patients to rest and recover and eases the pressure on families who feel as if they have to get there, it also allows staff to get on with their jobs. I am extremely grateful to the consultant for all his support prior to and during my stay, when he realised that I had been called to an appointment to discuss my results and no paperwork was available he personally went out of his way to stay on after a night shift in order to see me as an early appointment the following week. I gave birth to both of my daughters at the Liverpool Women's hospital and, once again, I have experienced an excellent service and aftercare. Thank you to all involved.
