The treatment from the consultant and the actual operation was brilliant. I couldn't fault it at all. However I found the nurses to be unsupportive and their treatment to be horrendous. From the minute I came back to the ward I had my breasts man handled by every passing nurse in the vain attempt to help me breast feed. I was given different advice from every nurse. Was told that it was it was OK for the baby to sleep as long as he fed every 6 hours (which is incorrect). Pretty much left on my own because I made the mistake of asking for a window. Was placed in a room on my own with no TV, no sleep, no support and unable to move. I didn't sleep the night before the operation and after being there for a night and not sleeping I begged for the nurses to help. They took him away for an hour and then brought him back. I had no night support from partner because of visiting hours. I am dreading having another child and going back to argyle. I appreciate nurses are overworked and underpaid but the problem was everyone I hobbled to their room the were sat there drinking tea. The day staff were much more efficient, there seemed to be a really problem at night. They really didn't seem to care. Leaving review for other mums to be. I have noticed there isn't any response from hospital management. Please note, i'm not a natural moaner. I'd really rather say nice things but actually I found it hard to find anything other than the excellent surgery!
