My husband had an appointment for an endoscopy. I drove from Weston-Super-Mare and allowed plenty of time. We arrived at 9.30 and went to the multi storey car park. It was full and people were waiting for spaces. I checked the other car parks and they were also full. Eventually I had to drop off my husband which I was reluctant to do as he is in great pain. I continued with my search and ended up at the new A&E car park where I was informed that although there were spaces I could not park there as it was not open. When the attendant realised I had tried everywhere else he offered to move his car so that I could use his space. By the time I found where my husband was undergoing treatment he had already been called in. The staff on this ward were excellent but the whole experience was marred by the lack of parking. Why hasn't this been sorted out before the problem arose? A hospital visit is stressful enough without worrying about where to park. Unfortunately I have an appointment tomorrow and all I am worried about is the parking as I am driving on my own so cannot be dropped off.
