"Staff were friendly while I was ..."

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Staff were friendly while I was in extreme pain, even making me laugh at times.

The dignity I received while having my feet and legs washed.

What could be improved

Not sure anything could be improved upon really.

Anything else?

During the time I was suffering from a back injury that lasted March through August 2007, the only worry that I had was the question of when my surgery would happen.

Despite going into Hospital the night before the surgery, I felt at ease. The staff made me feel welcome and relaxed. When I arrived, I could barely walk without pain and was not able to stand straight. By the time I left, I was stiff and the stitches hurt but it was a different sort of pain, a more healing pain.

When the actual surgery took place, it looked as if I wasn't going to have it done as an accident happened close by and the Docs needed to deal with that. Luckily at about 5pm the wheeled me down.

To be honest, although it was painful most of the time, I received care which I would not have done in a lot of countries.
