I recently had a foot operation at the Podiatry Service at Jordanthorpe Health Centre - it was the best NHS experience I've had. I was referred by my GP and seen quickly. Various options were explained to me clearly and we tried a couple of non surgical options. Then eventually surgery was the only option.
I was provided with a great info pack, detailing how I should prepare, what would happen and, most importantly, what I would need to do to get the best level of healing. The people were polite, focussed, professional but also treated me as a person, remembering I had a small child, making sure I had privacy to undress, and even a choice of biscuits! I read a book during the 40 minute operation I was so relaxed!
I've been seen on time for every appointment and felt very supported throughout. The team had a mix of professionals and everyone seemed to do their job with care, passion, and awareness of their place in the team. And it was done in a health centre - bit tricky to find but parking was free and so much easier than at one of the hospitals. Overall just really impressed with all involved.
"Great experience of Podiatric Surgery service"
