I have had several visits to Wythenshawe in the last few years and feel the emergency care is excellent - fast response to quite serious lung conditions, isolation & 24 hr nursing care when needed, access to first class medical staff and technology. I appreciate I was one of the lucky ones at the time and feel grateful for life saving treatment. I do however feel some areas are desperate for improvement: -cleanliness (not in ICU, CDU but on wards - shocking at times) -nursing care and compassion (not in ICU, CDU but on the wards) -information management in outpatient areas is poor and associated admin / nursing support inconsistent. Too often you hear "it's not my area" or "I'll get someone to do it" resulting in lengthy waits or worse, absence of help. -poor planning of treatment wastes valuable medical resources & patient time (which doesn't seem to be respected by many nhs staff) -food provision
