"Nothing at all."

About: Darent Valley Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Nothing at all.

What could be improved

Prioritising patients based on their condition-

We were passed around from department to department (A&E to Urgent care centre then back A&E) with a total wait of 7 hours. Made to wait to see a medical doctor from another floor for a further 1 hour.

All in all noone seemed to care that my wife is heavily pregnant, with doctors sitting around seemingly relaxing or getting themselves chocolate bars from the machines. So I doubt this poor care was due to a lack or resources in this hospital but rather a lack of empathy for patients.

Anything else?

Receptionists were very rude and need to be trained in how to communicate with people.

We are very sorry indeed that you had such a difficult and distressing time between the Accident and Emergency Department and the Urgent Care Centre. Your comments have been passed on to the relevant clinical leads so that they are aware of your feedback, and work with their teams to ensure this experience does not happen again.
