In view of the negative comments raised about nursing staff, we felt it was important to review other people’s experience of care on Cedar and Maple wards, through the surveys that we undertake on all our wards using hand held electronic tablets. All responses are anonymous and in relation to their contact with staff we ask patients the following questions. Were you made to feel welcome by staff; were staff friendly and approachable; did you feel listened to; did you feel valued; did you feel respected; did you feel involved and informed about care and treatment? The patients satisfaction responses to all of these questions between August 2013 and January 2014 scored between 80% - 100% with many scoring 100%. There were some very additional positive comments added to the surveys on both wards. Whilst the posting gave a very negative experience of being on the ward we hope that by publishing these results we give some reassurance to other people in relation to nursing care on the two wards mentioned.
