"A New Knee."

About: Rivers Hospital

At 7am on Wednesday 2nd April I arrived at Rivers Hospital, shown my room and allowed to settle in. At 9.15am I was being prepared for the operation. It was explained what was going to happen throughout. At about 11am I had regained consciousness in the recovery room, experienced no pain and was soon delivered to my room. It seemed that every possible effort (by all the staff) was made to make me comfortable and to get me on to the next stage, and this carried on for the next three days, when I was able to leave, albeit with two walking sticks and a pair of lovely white stockings, which I am told must be worn for the next six weeks, (my reputation will be in tatters!). I have the utmost admiration for the friendliness and efficiency of all the staff who made what could have been a terrifying ordeal into one of pleasure - I did not want to leave! The food was sufficient and first class. There would be no hesitation on my part in recommending Rivers Hospital to anyone who requires surgery of a similar nature to mine.
