What I liked
What could be improved
The room on the neo natal maternity ward which was supposedly for a ceasarian section mum and baby was filthy. I had to clean it with my own baby wipes. I watched the cleaner and she literally went in with the mop in one line and straight out again the same way. No furniture was ever moved and there was an inch thick of dust behind the vistors chair. I was transferred to a different room about two days after having the baby. This was behind a key coded door, the blinds were dirty/ mouldy, phone and light did not work and there were stains all over the carpet. I seriously would not have put my dog in it. When I tried to get back into the maternity ward again through the keycode doors which I was now on the other side of I heard the care assistant say "oh she can't come back in here now". I must also comment at this point that I had nearly lost my baby and he was in the intensive care unit. Despite this the staff were uncaring, unsupportive and downright rude at times. I would never go to that cesspit again. Needless to say I discharged myself and although I was further away from my baby I at least felt cared for at home.
You could train the supposedly caring staff to actually show a bit of care when its required and not treat vulnerable people as though they are stupid and/ or a nuisance.
A cleaner who cleans would be nice too, especially in a neo natal unit where the risk of infection is sky high. You would have thought that this was a priority.
