I was discharged a week ago after an operation under the care of two consultants. One, of whom, has been consistently outstanding throughout. The urology side of matters, however, is laughable. Where do I start.....communication issues, within the hospital and personally with me; I question - do they even know my diagnosis previously, perhaps they have forgotten!; the best part, I have received a request from the department to be admitted for a 'trial without catheter', (my catheter was removed Wednesday) and this appointment is for 7th April!!! We ask ourselves, 'why haven't the NHS got the funds?' The answer is simple....poor communication, patient priorities all wrong and unnecessary administration. I hope whoever reads this can appreciate how upset I am but most of all, they don't have the experiences that I have had. If it wasn't for the care I'm receiving currently by the gynaecology team I am under I would have washed my hands of this hospital completely.
"Urology department still a joke."
