"Trying to book a blood test at the WHH!"

About: William Harvey Hospital

I have been referred for a CT scan and received a letter in the post today, which I opened on arriving home at 3.30pm. After reading the information contained in the letter it is an urgent requirment that I have a blood test. So I have tried for over 30 minutes to get hold of someone to book a blood test which has been impossible as the phone just rings and rings. The timet past 4pm so I stopped calling, as I had been advised that this is when the department closes for bookings! I called the Main switchboard which then transferred me to a lady at EK services, who advised me that I had to call the department between 11am and 4pm (I knew that) and when I explained that I had been trying to call them as I only had 10 days to book it, she said maybe I should go to Canterbury as I dont need to book an appointment there! She could offer no other help at all! I was quite dismayed to say the least, as I dont think I should have to spend my money on Petrol and use my time travellng over a 38 mile round trip to get a blood test done elsewhere because my local hospital wont answer its phone?! I will try again tomorrow and should that fail I will be at a loss on what exactly I should do as the forms say that this is an urgent blood test and must be done prior to the CT scan? I have ever had a problem before in the 30 years prior when it was a ticketed system! Very disappointed and very worried that I may actually lose my CT scan appointment which again is very important! NB: Its asks below when I visited, As this review is because I cannot get an appointment, I have enetered this month or it wont let me leave a review!
