Where do I start? This was my first personal experience of hospitals and the NHS. My saga began with a visit to the Generals Urology department to ascertain if I had Prostate cancer. From the first consultation through to the current day - with one exception - the service and professionalism of the staff who have dealt with me has been brilliant. The consultant who has been looking after my case, has been great. Just the right level of dry humour whilst giving me the facts to decide what I was doing next. A TURP in January put me into ward 26 for recovery and it is fair to say that all of the staff, from the cleaners and restaurant staff upwards were friendly, professional and caring. I must admit I was scared of the idea of an operation and being in hospital, there has been such bad press, but the Urology team, the Specialist nurses the theatre staff and all of the staff in ward 26 made me as comfortable as they could! I am a critical person in terms of service, but all I can say of this team is that for me they were absolutely brilliant. Well done to all and thank you.
