I was in Kings Hospital 2 years ago for pneumonia and to me I was just a patient to be picked up and put down. At St Thomas's where I had 2 admissions, it felt different, very warn and caring, I felt like I was treated like a person. They asked me if I was alright and if I had had a bad day, and sat down and talked to me. The consultant surgeon was so kind and had time for you.
My 2 local surgeries I have to wait for a week for an appointment so I ask for a home visit as I am over 80 and get a visit the same day.
I come to the Age UK Healthy Living day centre and its great to come and talk and always staff come to greet you and find out how you are and talk to you. There are a lot of activities and people check on how you are doing..
