My partner was admitted to Manchester Royal Infirmary from casualty.
She was sent to the CLDU. I went to look for her in the Medical Assessment Unit - where people usually go from casualty. The staff there didn't know where CLDU was. Eventually we discovered that CLDU was in ward 5, which has of course been there for 20 years.
It is hard enough trying to find your way round a large hospital anyway, and this hospital is in the middle of a huge rebuilding programme, which makes it harder. Why complicate matters by inventing new names for old places?
