About: King's Mill Hospital

Yesterday was sent by my GP to this hospital after she had spoken to an on call registrar who said I should be admitted as an urgent case. This was done. I was told to report to emergency and say my name and ask them to contact on call registrar who would then admit me. I arrived at twelve twenty in the emergency depart to be told by the receptionist that all doctors say that and I would have to wait my turn.. Saw a nurse and repeated who said exactly the same. I was in that department for five hours. Bloods were taken but were messed up so no result cannula left in arm. A doctor in department told me the registrar denied ever speaking to GP today and had never heard of me....Later in the day I was discharged with an ultrasound scan arranged for the next day and three hours later an appointment to see yet another consultant. I was told I could stay in hospital if I wanted but no guarantee could be given as to whether I would have a scan. I already had an appointment that day at Newark but was told not to attend before going to kings mill as one would be done there. I found out on my return home that there is another department which deals with urgent GP admissions, so why was I not sent to the correct department instead of rude remarks referring to GP from the A&E.
