"Issues with card system for appointments"

About: Community Health Services / Podiatry

(as the patient),

I go to Nut Grove Clinic, Huyton/Knowsley, Liverpool.

The staff are always very nice, I don’t know everyone by name but two names of ladies who do feet are Margaret and Michelle. The care I get regarding my feet I have no problem with.

I do have a problem about cards with a number on being put out near to 9am. A lot of people get there before or at 8am.

Six or more people can come in for their feet to be done and a lot of the time the second or third person will get up, when numbers are put out and say they are first. This starts arguments and bad feelings with each other.

If numbers were out early, then as people come in they could take card and there would be no bother.

Also, could room be made outside your building for more car parking for blue badge holders. Could some of your card park at rear be made for blue badge holders. This would help some people, even if it is a bit of a walk around the building, it’s better than having to talk from the main car park.

Not only is that a very long walk, but it costs 55p for a ticket. This may not sound much to some people, but to someone like myself, an OAP, with heart and lung problems, the ticket parking price and the walk from the main car park is a lot.

Dear Damp747

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment on your experience of the podiatry service within 5 Boroughs Partnership and it is lovely to hear that you are receiving a quality service from the staff. I will ensure that I feedback your kind comments to both Michelle and Margaret.

In relation to your comment around the timing of the patient numbers being made available to patients attending the Podiatry Walk-In clinics at Nutgrove Villa, I understand your frustration of queue jumping and can only apologise for any upset caused. I have therefore asked the staff on reception at Nutgrove if they would put the numbers out for patients to take from 8.00 am to attempt to resolve this problem as patients can then take a number as they enter the clinic. Obviously I will carry on monitoring this issue to check it has resolved.

In answer to your comment around parking issues I don’t know if you are aware but the podiatry service run clinics from alternative sites to Nutgrove Villa but within only a few miles. Some of these clinics have much better accessible parking for people with disabilities. If you would like to find out more around these alternative sites please contact the podiatry office on 0151 290 2002 or ask one of the podiatry staff at your next visit to Nutgrove Villa and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Thank you once again for your feedback

With best wishes
