"Excellent care, but disgraceful parking charges"

I find your care of my mother excellent, she is a dementia patient and needs constant care.

However I find your parking disgraceful.

My mother was rushed into hospital and I spent 4hours and 15 mins parked.

I then had to pay £6.50 for what is classed as an all day ticket.

I paid and then the only way to get out is to put the ticket in the machine and it does not give it back.

Due to the nature I had to return with clothes for my mother. Again paying for another ticket.

I believe your statement of an all day ticket in a false statement when infact if it was the machine would return the ticket for further use.

May I suggest that you either change your pricing policy or have a system where an all day ticket lasts for the day to stop liable action possibly taking place.

We feel that patient parking, charged at a maximum rate of £6.50 for four hours and over, or £1.60 for up to 2 hours and £2.10 for between 2 - 4 hours is appropriate and is comparable with other hospitals in the surrounding area. These charges are for continuous time spent within the car park up to the time limits stated, and are not valid for re-entry to the car park once a vehicle has left. I am sorry if you feel this was unclear. Please be assured that your comments have been passed to our Estates and Facilities department.

Had you needed to leave the hospital for a short time, the car park attendants would have been happy to advise you of your options relating to parking depending on your circumstances.
