Four years ago I received my diagnosis. My major surgery was scheduled only two weeks after my initial appointment. Following my surgery I received exceptional care on the Upper GI ward. Since then I have been very well looked after by both the surgical and oncology teams concerned. I have been given clear information about my condition and feel supported with decisions I have made about my treatment. My nurse specialist has been exceptional. I would recdommmend attending the Maggie's centre to anybody affected. For what it is and thenumbers of patients requiring it, I found the food fine, the is agood selection but if there is nothing on the main menu that you like, the halal option is good! I have found no issues with cleanliness in the new part of the hospital, however some of the passages in the 1940s built part are a bit grim, although they do their best to cheer them up with some colourful artwork. I needed futher surgery from a different team this year, this time the wait was longer, but the surgery was less urgent. Once again the staff were very thorough and I felt well looked after. I have recommended this hospital and would do so again.
