"Eldrely Treatment"

My Grandmother was admitted to hospital with an extremely low heartbeat. On the first day, the ward (MAU) lost her notes and didn't know why she was in hospital so had to ask us. They then proceeded to move her around the ward 3 times for no apparent reason. We visited the hospital at visiting time on the night two days later and were informed that she had a pacemaker fitted. Nobody had rang to inform us, which is standard procedure, the doctor who we spoke said he was under the impression she had spoke to us via mobile, the woman is 80 and said she had told them she hadn't been in touch. My grandma then became confused and wanted to go home, the nurses had let her wander the ward for 30 minutes before we arrived trying to get home without trying to help her or calm her down. She was very distressed and upset. other patients confirmed that nobody had tried to settle her. It took us an hour of visiting to calm her down and ensure her she was safe. The nurses didn't seem to care and were very dis-interested in answering any of our questions regarding the surgery and the aftermath. Very disappointing and upsetting time, a formal complaint has been made.
