I recieved exceptional care and personal treatment following a knee replacement on 5th December 2013. The whole nursing team on the Beaumont Ward room A were attentive, professional and ensured a friendly and caring environment. The returning home 48 hrs later was made so much easier and completely removed any anxieted by the follow up the next day and subsequent visits by members of the SWAT nurses and physiotherapists who were able to advise and provide reassurance. In particular a physiotherapist identified that in spite of regular exercising, my knee flexion was reducing. He ensured that I then carried out additional extercises, used my perscribed pain relief more efficiently, and liasised with the Consultant. He further visited and telephoned me to monitor my progress and fully briefed the Physiotherapy Department at Stratford Hospital and arranged for me to go there. At Stratford Hospital a Physiotherapist saw me on a number of occations and her sessions and exercise advice ensured I made significant progress , suffcient for me to then attend their knee classes. This resource was quite amazing under the guidance of two different physiotherapists, both myself and some ten other post knee replacement patients all visibly made significant advances in mobility over the next 6 weeks due to improved knee flexion. Talking to other members of the classes, it was quite obvious that numerous concerns on knee related and post operation healing were resolved by the physiotherapists and therefore saved many visits to Gps and even returning to Consultants. Now 10 weeks after the operations I feel I have made significant progress always under the guidance of skilled professionals,
