"Good patient care spoilt by communication"

About: Alexandra Hospital

I have had a couple of operations at the Alexandra and from admittance to theatre I have felt looked after, however after my last operation I felt very ill and my consultant agreed I should stay in an extra day, this was either not communicated to the nursing staff or ignored as the nurse looking after me proceeded to discharge me saying they needed the bed, another nurse did try and intervene but by that time I had been helped to dress by my husband and we left,I really struggled at home to cope as I was so poorly and I believe this affected my recovery, I do not know why this happened but good knowledge of the English language should be a requirement for all staff in contact with patients

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are a very patient focused hospital and we are quite concerned to read your comments. We will investigate and respond appropriately once we have investigated fully and are able to reply with accurate feedback. In the meantime, we would like to ask you to contact me at the hospital to help us investigate your experience further. Kind regards Philip Oehley Executive Director BMI The Alexandra Hospital
