My 3 month old son was admitted to ward F65 via A&E this week, we were both tired and upset and having never spent any time in hospital with any of my children before, I was dreading our stay and was very anxious. I needn't have worried though, all the staff from the health care assistants and student nurses to the nurses and doctors were fantastic. My son had to have several blood tests, cannulas inserted and a lumbar puncture, which were distressing for both of us but the staff were so caring and compassionate and genuinely kind. They looked after us both so well, one of the night nurses even offered to settle my son for me because she knew I'd had no sleep since arriving and I'm so grateful to her. I was never in any doubt that the doctors and nurses were doing all they could for us and we were always kept informed of test results etc. I hope we never have reason to return, but if we did I'd know that we would be taken care of very well by a lovely team.
