I was admitted to ward31 with severe stomach pains as my doctor was also very concerned for me. I arrived and was shown into a waiting area full of chairs and people milling around I was very worried I was going to get left there for a long time in severe pain, but no I was whisked away by a very lovely bubbly specialist nurse who took all my details and before I knew it was hooked up to some pain killing drips. Fantastic treatment seen and pain free in 30mins. Then I was taken out onto the ward, the ward staff are amazing they work endlessly, the ward is full of laughter from the nurses who so obviously enjoy their work, patients are made to feel welcomed safe and cared for by these very hard working nurses. The night staff however were a bit grumpy but I put that down to night shift with very few staff on. The ward manager who I believe is a specialist nurse also is very lucky to have the team he has, the only time I had any contact with him was on a morning when he introduced himself to us as the boss, but he also was a very pleasent chatty chap. Was often seen chatting in the corridor while his team worked around him. All in all a great ward with amazing hard working staff who deserve a big thank you for all the help they have given me
"Only as good as your team, excellent ward 31"
