I was referred to the hospital, to see an E.N.T. consultant, by the nurse at my own medical practice, as I have suffered from tinnitus for over 20 years, and of late I have suffered from a sinus infection which has caused the tinnitus to become unbearable. I was initially tested by an audiologist who suggested that a hearing aid and/or a new masker would help. I was told that she would ask the consultant to confirm this. On seeing the consultant I was asked by him "what do you expect from us today " I foolishly assumed that he would be giving me the benefit of his experience....wrong... I was told , in no uncertain terms that firstly he had none of my medical history, secondly a hearing aid would be virtually useless, and that a new masker ..to replace my 20 yr old one...which incidentally has helped me, was out of the question. I was offered an MRI scan......if I wanted one. All in all a very humiliating experience by an ignorant ill mannered "consultant " Not a nice experience !
"Nice Hospital..nasty "consultant ""
