The NICU staff looked after our baby Isabelle Cooke after she suffered an infection. Isabelle was in the NICU for 5 days and was treated with a fantastic level of care and attention by the staff. My wife and I were kept informed of Isabelle's progress and we were treated with care and compassion by the nursing staff. After 5 days Isabelle was moved to the children's Ward as she was considered well enough, and again we were fortune to have Frankie caring for Isabelle. As with the NICU staff Frankie was attentive and we felt lucky to have Isabelle in Frankie's care. I should also mention the midwife who helped to deliver Isabelle and was very patient with us and also very supportive. Due to Isabelle passing Meconium during birth the doctors had to use suction to clear her airway but before taking Isabelle to the NICU Kelly made sure my wife got to hold Isabelle for a couple of minutes which I thought showed real consideration during a pressured time / environment. The staff in the NICU and the children's Ward and the labour ward all did an outstanding job and are a credit to the NHS.
