"Poor communication in A&E"

About: Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust

(as the patient),

After visiting my doctor with chest pains and heart palpataions, he sent me straight to a&e.

I was in a&e for 6 hours before being sent to a ward, in this 6 hours I had an ecg and then I was put in a room and left.

At one point I heard one nurse tell another I had gone home! I was not checked on to see how my condition was or to see if I had drank or eaten.

When finally placed on a ward the doctor there was surprised to learn I hadn't even had any bloods taken, which were then taken and because of how late it was I couldn't be discharged.

The nurses on the ward were lovely and made sure I had everything I needed. I was discharged the following day.
