"Thanks for the support and help at Tunstall House"

About: North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

Firstly I just wanted to say something about when I was first depressed. I went to see my GP because of a bad back, and she thought I was depressed and gave me anti depressants. However she did not explain to me why she thought I was depressed and what the tablets would do so I did not take them it was only much later when my wife became concerned and took me back that I got the care I needed.

I currently go to Tunstall House day centre twice a week, and I think coming here has given me my self esteem back, the staff have been like a friend but been able to spot when I am a bit off and low and offer support and help.

I am really concerned that it might close, and the other places I have seen would not offer as much. I dont think I would want to go anywhere else and I am a bit worried about what that would mean for me.

Thank you for your posting. Tunstall House is not a 5 Boroughs service, it is operated by Wigan MBC so I really can't comment.

The Complaints Manager for Wigan Council is George Ellis and you can call him on 01942 827797. If you need help to make a complaint you can call Wigan Family Friends on 01942 867888.
