"Discharge"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

I was unhappy with the way the discharge procedure is. I was told at 3.00 on that I can go home. My lift arrived and I waited an hour and then another hour. I was told the doc needs to read my notes upon waiting waiting. I am still currently in hospital time 8.00 pm and not heard anything. I cannot stress how unhappy I am and why is it only doc who can sign me off. There should be someone who can deal.

We are sorry that your wait to be discharged was longer than anticipated as we can imagine your frustration. If a patient requires a medical review before discharge then there can sometimes be a delay depending on the emergencies being dealt with elsewhere in the department. However we apologise that this was not explained to you and resulted in a long wait for you. Thank you for bringing this to our attention we will feed this back to our staff
