"Extremely disappointed"

About: Whiston Hospital

I am extremely disapointed by wiston hospital labour ward, I had been previously promised a c-section in writing due to having meeting with my midwife as my family history have had complication in labour & also due to my tiny frame. The day I went into labour I waited hours at home like the midwive said until the pain was uncontrollable & then it was time to go to hospital, it was my first time in labour so I was terrified! As soon as I got to wiston I was waiting over an hour in the waiting room in agony before a midwife came to see how far dilated I was, my contractions were every 2 & a half minutes and the midwife told me to go home and she said i wasn't in labour and that I should stop timing my contraction & it was a mift and didn't even examen me & sent me home which was over 40 minutes away in the car! I then found on the way home my contractions were every 2 minutes and getting much more stronger at this point we was nearly home! My husband called the lavour ward & was told to bring me straight back, I then finally got back to the hospital and was 4-5 cm and was in labour! And went straight into the delivery sweet to deliver the baby Naturally! Within 2 hours my waters had broke and the baby had pooed inside me were there was a danger that he could inhale it, rather than giving me the c-section that they should have done they decide to still go ahead naturally, even thought there was a risk my baby could be poorly! Over all they made me wait 3 hours without delivering and 2 hours trying to push and finally I ended up having forsepets due to my body frame, my little boy was taking into special care ( intensive care ) for 9 days as never stuck to the original plan. Not only was he very poorly but they missed his medication 3 times! Plus I have the lady's next doors notes with all her medication in my room as I was also sick too! Luckily my little boy frankie is ok now but had had a lot one medical history and picks up everything and I believe this could be linked to him being ill when he was a newborn. I would deffently not recommend going to Wiston Hospital & they are lacking people skills Kat Bowen.
