"Very satisfied"

About: Royal Free Hospital

I had a planned Caeserean Section in July 2013 and was very satisfied with the treatment I received. I was also very lucky with my antenatal care under my midwife (thank you so much again!). On the day of my delivery I received high quality care, especially from the doctors involved (both Anaesthetists and Obstetrician). All through the process I felt reassured and safe in the hands of the medical and nursing team. Everybody was friendly and accommodating. The first night on the postnatal ward was very tiring, as I was in a 4-bed room with lots of noise around. But once I got a side room the next morning it was fine. I received good care from the midwives on the admission and post natal units. Suggestions for improvement: The weeks around my delivery were very busy and on the day of my surgery there were emergencies that took priority till afternoon. I would like to suggest a separate list for elective CS, as it was not easy staying starved until 3pm in the afternoon being 39 wks pregnant (I was the first one on the elective list, so the lady after me had to wait even longer). I appreciate that that particular day was extremely busy and this is not usually the case, but being such a big unit, it is definitely worth considering implementing separate lists. Overall, I had a very good experience delivering at the Royal Free Hospital and would recommend it. Thanks a lot to the whole team!!

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We're pleased you were happy with the care you received overall and have fed your comments back to the maternity department.
