"Waiting"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

Today I had to go to A&E with a letter from my GP arrived approx 7.15 pm an hour and 20 mins later I saw the triage nurse. At 11.45pm I still hadnt seen a doctor and it was filling up fast again. While waiting spoke to a lot of people one man 83 diabetic was waiting on a trolly since 4 pm for a bed. And lots of others were coming in by ambulance . They wanted to put an antibiotic drip in me and for me to stay in. At 11.45pm I left as I was taking antibiotic tables already and how long would I have to wait for a bed when that poor man had been waiting all that time and so were lots of others. What has happened to our A&E the staff cant cope to many people and not enough staff caused by other A&E dept closing locally it is very bad. PS whilst waiting for a taxi outside 3 more ambulances arrived at A&E in 10 mins.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience. I am sorry to read that you are unhappy with elements of your care and treatment, in particular the waiting times within the department. If you haven't done so already, please do consider contacting our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) so that we can discuss your experience in more detail and look into some of the specific points you raise. The PALS team are contactable via 01296 316042 or pals@buckshealthcare.nhs.uk Kind regards Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust
