I found the advocates to be concerned, helpful and friendly. It puts my mind at ease to know that there is someone independent of the "system" who will take up my case if necessary. Someone who knows the mental health act thoroughly and is prepared to fight my case if circumstances warrant such intervention.
Mental health advocacy is both vital and essential at certain times, especially for the patient who is more or less alone when it comes to defending his/her case.
