Over the Christmas period my Mum had a hypoglycemic attack, probably the worst I've ever seen and bad enough to warrant a visit from the paramedics. They were brilliant, they were really patient with her and got her blood sugar level up to a normal range. She's a tough old bird of 74 and in her time she's accrued a variety of illnesses, and taking this into account the paramedics decided to admit her to Sandwell A&E. The A&E staff were professional and caring and even gave her the B12 shot she so desperately needed. The diabetic specialist nurse actually explained in layman's terms what had actually happened and how further hypoglycemic attacks could be avoided, I was even given a crash course in how to use a blood sugar monitor at the diabetic clinic, on site. Thank you to the lady who made us tea and coffee and thank you to the paramedics who came back to check on us and to make sure we had transport home. The care my mum was shown that day was above and beyond, to all staff concerned thank you.
