Our dad was admitted to Critical Care Unit in August with Endocarditis. After several days on Critical Care he was transfered to Chesterman as he started to respond well to treatment. After three weeks in hospital on iv antibiotics my dad was making great improvements and looking forward to coming home and to carry on treatment within his own environment. The day before he was due to come home my dad suffered a cardiac arrest due to the infection. He was transferred to intensive care unit where he stayed for 5 days with all his family by his side. There are so many people we would like to thank, especially the nurses, doctors and crash team that helped save my father on that fatefull day. You have given my dad a second chance of life so would like to thank each and everyone of you. Also, to all the staff in Intensive Care Unit who gave one on one care 24 hours a day. We will never forget each and every one of you who worked round the clock to give my dad all the care and treatment that was needed. Also special thanks to all the staff on Critital Care unit and the doctor and all the cardiology team who worked so hard to ensure my dad had all the various tests required. Due to all the hard work and dedication you all gave my dad, he is now recovering well at home and is now looking forward to celebrating Christmas with his wife, four daughters and grandchildren.
