"Appalling treatment of patients"

Recently visited ward 31 on several occasions as a family member was staying there and I found it absolutely appalling the way a couple of the nurses spoke to the patients. These patients are all over 65 years of age and a few of them seem to be in the early stages of dementia, yet they are getting spoken to like a piece of dirt and I even overheard one of the nursing staff have a full on slanging match with one of the patients, all because she was asking to go to the toilet and did not want to do her business in her bed. It is absolutely shocking that the NHS can have people like this working for them and it makes you sick to the stomach to think that you put your trust in these people and yet they cannot treat the patients with a bit more respect. One patient was left for 25 minutes after pulling their emergency bell in her own dirt as she needed to use the bathroom and could not get their herself. She was then spoken to as though she was an inconvenience. If these nurses do not want to do the job, why not do one and let somebody else have the job who will treat the patients with a bit more care and respect. I'm sure these people wouldn't like it if it were their mother or father being treated in this way. Absolute disgrace!
