"My care was excellent!"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I fell off my bike two years ago and broke two bones in my hand. I was in a bit of pain.

I was taken into see a triage nurse within 10-15 minutes, which was great. I was then sent for an xray which was done quickly. The xray was then sent back to the nurse where she noticed two bones were broken. I was then sent home strapped up with a cast on and was given pain killers.

My care was excellent!

I then was given a fracture clinic appointment. When I went to this I was told it was healing well. Because I received quick and efficient care I feel that’s how it healed so well.

I was always going to write and thank the hospital and staff but didn’t know there was a way to do this at home. I work full time, so don’t have a lot of time to pop back in but I really wanted to give feedback. If I knew about Patient Opinion at the hospital I could have gave my thanks sooner.

Dear Over347

Thank you for getting in touch with us through Patient Opinion to let us know what great care your received when you broke bones in your hand.

Patient Opinion is a great forum to contact us, I am glad you have also found this.

I would be delighted to pass on your thanks to our A&E Department and Fracture Clinic and although it was two years ago when you have your accident, our staff will really appreciate being told about how happy you were with the care they gave.

I hope you are fully recovered.

Kind regards

Kate Macdonald
