I have an extreme fear of needles and as such I can’t tolerate a normal anaesthetic in the local high street dentists. As such following attendance at the local dentist where I was treated with dignity and respect and was referred without trouble to Homerton General in Hackney. When I went there I was treated brilliantly by the nursing staff and dentists alike and experienced excellent care. I was anaesthetised and went through the necessary dental treatment without distress. It is worth remarking just how little fuss there was given that I am a wheelchair user and have a speech impairment which can sometimes mean it is difficult to hear what I say. But they weren’t patronising or silly either and they just asked me to repeat myself if they didn’t catch what I said first time round – you know – like they didn’t make a big deal out if it.
"Dental care put the smile back on my face :)"
