"Great care received"

About: Ilkeston Community Hospital

Anything else?

My husband recently had an op at the Diagnostic and Treatment centre at Ilkeston. He was treated with care and the staff were very polite and relaxed. I chose to wait and had several lovely cups of tea and chatted to the ladies in the WI cafe. I popped back to the centre later and the receptionist was leaving but she went to ask how my husband was, which was very thoughtful of her . I came back later and someone came to find me and I was able to sit with my husband for a while, which was nice. The staff were great and we both felt at ease. People are so quick to complain about the NHS but rarely praise, hence my comments. We'll done to all at the centre and thank you.

Firstly a grateful thanks to the patient and his wife for taking the time to send us some feedback on the service we provide here in the DTC.

Providing day surgery and endoscopy services in a community hospital setting has many challenges and requires a skilled and committed team. Our aim is to provide the highest standards of care and to ensure that the patients, their families, and carers have a positive experience whilst they are with us. It is important to us that they feel safe, informed and empowered to work with us to achieve those standards. It is certainly our privilege to be in a healthcare environment in which patients trust us to care for and support them. Receiving such thoughtful and positive comments make us proud of what we do.
