"The best of care by the best of people"

About: The James Cook University Hospital

Anything else?

Was admitted last Monday 28th Oct 2013 to have a brain tumour removed on ward 24. Was treated to care & attention from the start by everyone from the cleaners, catering & all the nursing & surgeon staff. Things were explained in detail & everyone was caring & confident in their field. Glad to say the operation was a success & I was even discharged on the Thursday. Nothing was above them & I would like to thank all the team for what you have done for me.

Response from The James Cook University Hospital

Good afternoon Jacqueline Thank you for your feedback in which you express your thanks to the staff involved in your care and treatment during your admission to The James Cook University Hospital in October. It is always pleasing to receive words of thanks and I very much appreciate you taking the time to contact us. I shall certainly forward your kind words to the staff involved in your care and treatment, who I am sure will be equally pleased to read them. It may interest you to know the trust runs a ‘Thank You Award’ scheme where NHS colleagues, patients and relatives can nominate staff in recognition of their work. These are presented throughout the year for acts above the call of duty or where staff have shown exceptional kindness towards patients and their relatives. Please contact the chairman’s office on 01642 854151 or email deborah.jenkins@stees.nhs.uk Alternatively, you may wish to nominate online at www.southtees.nhs.uk/about/awards/. With best wishes for your recovery Patient Relations
