"The staff are all nice and friendly ..."

About: Whiston Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The staff are all nice and friendly but I don't think they let the patient know what is going on with them regular enough. They should update the patient on progress so thet they are up to speed and reassured with what is going on.

What could be improved

I was told I needed an operation and stayed in overnight. Then I was nill by mouth from 6:20am till 1:30pm only to be told my operation was the following day. I was then told at appx 7:00pm I could go home (just after visiting time when my family had left). I was then told I was to come back to the fracture clinic on Fri 02/05/08. Then I got a phone call to say it was now Wed 07/05/08. I am unable to attend this appointment and am trying as we speak to contact the hospital but the number just keeps ringing out. I find this disgraceful as I need to re-arrange so that there is someone to look after my daughter. The whole scenario has been a disaster!
