"Endocrinology."

About: Colchester General Hospital

Anything else?

Sent 2 emails, they were unanswered. Made a phone call and was surprised at the lack of care from the Drs Secretary. Phoned PALS but just an answering machine. Phoned Duty Matron and he told me to speak to PALS as the number I phoned him on was for out of hours, explained that no one answered PALS phone but he did not bother to ask me about my concerns. Very disappointed in this lack of care.

I apologise you’ve not had a good patient experience. PALS should either answer the phone during office hours (although sometimes it will go to voicemail). Nevertheless, they should respond to you if you leave a message. We try really hard to improve our services based on the comments we receive from our patients, their relatives or carers. We would like the opportunity to discuss your experiences more fully and to apologise in person. If you are willing I would appreciate it if I could ask the matron to contact you. Could you email me, using the reference “Endocrinology and Metabolic Medicine at RDEE4-Colchester General Hospital at 16/10/2013 14:35:09”, please? Many thanks Paul Searle, Head of Communications Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust info@colchesterhospital.nhs.uk
