What I liked
my first experience of bolton hospital was when i miscarried my first child. The staff were absolutely fantastic! i couldn't have asked for better care. I am now pregnant again and have had numerous scares and visits to the hospital each time the staff have been brilliant. The midwives (especially on the early pregancy ward) are fantastic. please keep up the good work!!
What could be improved
i have sadly had a bad experience recently. I was referred by by gp. I went to the ward and was treated terribly by the midwife who greeted me. she then sent me to the early pregnancy unit (even although i was 39 weeks pregnant). I was doubled over in terrible pain. i arrived at the other ward to be told i had to go back. i burst into tears and said i didnt want to go back to be treated by that midwife. She was really nice apologised for my experience and told me she would take me over herself and make sure i wasnt treated by her. when i arrived she put me in a bed made me comfortable and went off to get a doctor. she came back and told me someone was on their way to see me and left. The origonal midwife then walked into the room. she treated me throughout my 6 hour stay and was rude and abrupt throughout. needless to say i was upset and uncomfortable. I still however have great respect and liking for every other midwife who has come into contact with me over the past 9 months.
