"Baby boy with respiratory problems"

My 9 month old son was admitted to Outwood Ward at Redhill East Surrey Hospital last weekend, following a dose of Croup, and then a further problem (either Asthma or a further infection). He was admitted and spent the weekend under observation.
The support and care that we received by all concerned, both in paediatric A&E and on the ward was incredible. Never did the staff seemes rushed or too busy. Nothing was too much trouble either in care, or reassurance and support for us anxious parents.
The reason for this comment though, is that the Staff Nurse allocated to us was a smoker, and took regular cigarette breaks throughout her shift. I'm staggered (with hindsight), that this is allowed on a childrens repiratory support ward. Every time she took my Son’s observations she reeked, and he will have inhaled some of those fumes.
