"Upper G1 (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery)"

About: Churchill Hospital

Anything else?

All of the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Upper G1 gave excellent care during my rather unexpected long stay at the Churchill Hospital (7 weeks). The newspapers might be full of articles referring to the poor care delivered by many hospitals but that is certainly not the case with Upper G1 Churchill Hospital. I always felt confident that the care I was receiving was exceptional and about as good as it could be, even the food was good but I was unable to do it justice. I learned to be careful with what I said as the slightest comment would result in a nurse endeavouring to satisfy my needs. This often left me feeling a little embarrassed that I had caused extra work for an already busy staff. The ward was at all times clean and good practises for Infection Control were apparent. I have made good progress and am now eating normally and getting out and about, working on my allotment, a daily visit to the supermarket and the odd day out to London.
